My Story & Mission
I was skin and bones, struggling with even the simplest tasks like walking and holding up my head. My stomach was alarmingly distended, resembling that of a woman in the ninth month of pregnancy. The skin was stretched so tightly over my abdomen that it was hard and skintight. This was due to a condition called ascites.
Initially, my doctors feared I had liver failure, possibly requiring a liver transplant. They needed to relieve the pressure on my organs and determine the underlying cause.
They numbed a spot on my stomach and inserted a syringe to extract the fluid. To everyone's surprise, the fluid was not clear as expected; instead, I was bleeding internally.
